1. Once in a while I select an excerpt of brilliant writing from a short story or novel. It becomes the lesson for my super-mini masterclass.

2. I colour the text and make notes in the margins to show you how the excerpt demonstrates a powerful writing technique.

3. I create a simple writing recipe so that you can use the technique in your own writing.
